UberEats Food Bank

As humans, we often have eyes that are bigger than our stomachs. This fact rings even truer in the age of food delivery. Sadly, this leads to a lot of wasted food in communities that have members who are going hungry. UberEats wanted to change that. The majority of homeless people own a smartphone, either through their own means or through a program’s donation. Knowing this fact, UberEats created a way to let members of the community look out for one another. First, they started by donating phones with UberEats preinstalled on them or giving out codes to those who already had smartphones. Then they updated their app to allow users to seamlessly donate and deliver food directly to the homeless people in their neighborhoods.
