Uber Eats Food Bank

As humans, we often have eyes that are bigger than our stomachs. This fact rings even truer in the age of food delivery. Sadly,

this leads to a lot of wasted food in communities that have members who are going hungry. Uber Eats wanted to change that.

The majority of homeless people own a smartphone, either through their own means or through a program’s donation. Knowing this

fact, Uber Eats created a way to let members of the community look out for one another. Uber Eats started by donating phones with Uber Eats

preinstalled on them and giving out codes to those who already had smartphones. Then they updated their app to allow users to

to seamlessly donate and deliver food directly to homeless people in their neighborhoods.
